Visa Information
If you’re planning to study in Newzealand for more than three months then you need a study visa or If you’re planning to study for a short course that’s less than three months, you don’t need a student visa just a visitor visa.
Requirements for NewZealand student visa
- an offer of place from an educational institution approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority
- a written guarantee from an institution or person that suitable accommodation is available to you in New Zealand (if you're under 18 years)
- evidence of sufficient funds to live on while you are studying
- evidence of sufficient funds to live on while you are studa return air ticket to your country, or evidence of sufficient funds to buy one.
New Zealand Working Hours
New Zealand student visas usually allow full-time students to work up to 20 hours a week during the academic year and up to 40 hours a week during the summer break. This applies to both secondary school and tertiary students. Research master’s and Ph.D. students can work 40 hours a week all year round.
